The Sagrada Familia is the jewel of Catalan modernism. Formally known as the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia (‘Basilica of the Holy Family’), Once completed, it will be recognized as the tallest and the most magnificent Roman Catholic minor basilica.This glorious masterpiece is by Antoni Gaudi, the foremost architect of the Modernist era. It is his most famous work and his most ambitious. Begun in 1882, construction is almost a century and a half. The aim was to finish it in 2026, in time for Gaudi's death centennial.
